Admins and permissions

Decide who can use which part of the dashboard and the in-game panel.

The Admins page controls who may use your server in the dashboard. It needs the Administrators permission.

Owner and admins#

  • The owner is the person who bought the license. Owners have full access to every module automatically, and only owners can download the resource and request an IP reset.
  • Admins are other people you authorize. Each admin gets a list of permissions that decide which dashboard pages they can open and what they can do there.

Permissions#

PermissionWhat it allows
DashboardView the main system dashboard of the server.
Ingame PanelUse the /astroshield panel in game. The panel includes bans, screen view, the dashboard and players. See In-game panel.
PlayersView and monitor server players.
Screen ViewView the screen of your players.
Live MapAccess the real-time server map.
BansBan or unban players permanently.
ScriptsManage active scripts and resource loading. See Resources.
Manage ResourcesDownload resources and request server IP unlocks.
LogsView and analyze the audit log.
EventsView live in-game events such as explosions, weapon activity and fires.
Custom RulesCreate and manage rules that react to in-game events. Rules can ban players and fire server events, so grant this with care.
ConsoleAccess the server console for direct command execution.
AdministratorsAdd or remove server administrators.
ConfigurationModify global server settings.

Some actions need more than the permission. Downloading the resource and requesting an IP reset are limited to the owner, even if another admin has Manage Resources.

Grant these carefully

Console, Custom Rules, Configuration and Administrators can change how your server behaves or who has access. Give them to as few people as possible.

Add an admin#

  1. Click Add admin.
  2. Enter the person's Discord ID, email or user ID.
  3. Optionally pick a role preset so the permissions are filled in for you.
  4. Click Authorize, then adjust the permissions in the dialog that opens.

Use Edit on an admin to change their permissions with Save changes, or Revoke access to remove them. Every change is written to the audit log.

Role presets#

A role preset is a named set of permissions, for example Moderator or Senior Admin, that you can apply to an admin in one click. Create one with Create role preset: give it a name, a short description, a badge color and the permissions to include. Pick it when you add an admin, or use Apply Role Preset on an existing one. The Role Preset column of the table shows who has which preset.

In-game access#

The in-game panel is controlled separately from the dashboard:

  • The Ingame Panel permission gives access to a player whose Discord account matches the admin account. The player must have Discord running so FiveM can see their discord: identifier.
  • An ACE permission, astroshield.admin, gives access without a dashboard account. See Permissions and whitelisting.
